Virginia

So I had a lot of fun in Virginia. I stayed there with my family for a week. We went shopping with my Aunt, and I also got to go to the Smithsonian Museums in Washington D.C. I only went to two, American History & Natural History.
Some other good news is that I drove for 6 hours from Augusta to the Virginia border!! We’re talking interstate here!!! I’m very happy and proud about that. I also drove a few hours going back home, but not as much.

I know that this post was very short, but there isn’t much to say!
Thanks for reading!

Lutheridge • Music Week

Lutheridge was just GREAT! I ♥’d Lutheridge. Especially since it was Music Week. The food was great too. :)

I learned some great songs: Emmanuel not original song
• Emmanuel
• Yes, Jesus Loves Me
• Be Still and Know
• Come to the House of the Lord
• Jesus, What a Wonderful Child

I also learned how to play the handbells & chimes. Which was a lot of fun. I went on an outing at Dupont…I’m not sure if that’s how you spell it, but I know that it was waterfalls, just beautiful.

If you go on facebook and search “Lutheridge”. Look at the photos: Cabin Photos – Week 6 – Music Week…I’m in there somewhere!!

CALIFORNIA!!

California was really fun! Totally awesome. I loved it. There is so much that happened, and I don’t want to bore you while talking about it. So I’ll try to make it as short as possible, but at the same time, full of information. I’ll also make my own section in here with pictures of California maybe. You have to comment though if you would like to see pictures. Because, I don’t want to upload them on Faithfreaks…it takes WAY TOO MUCH TIME. So here we go!!

We started the trip last week on Tuesday. We woke-up at 4:30 AM and started driving to Augusta Airport at 5:00 AM. We got there around 6:00 AM. We checked in our luggage and got a security check. You have to take off your shoes and put your carry-on baggage and jackets and shoes to go through security. Me and Anna had something in our luggage and had to be stopped!! :O We had “liquids” in there. Which are not allowed because of bombs or something like that. I had lotion in mine, she had shaving cream. But whatever. We had to have our shaving cream thrown away there and since my lotion was medicated, we got to keep it. When we got on the plane, it was really small and the ride was only going to be for about 50 minutes. We were flying to Atlanta Airport (the 2nd biggest airport in the United States) The ride was…boring.

At the Atlanta Airport…it was huge, and crazy! If you stop while walking, you might get bumped in or lost because there are hundreds of people walking either way of you and I always had to keep an eye on Jenny because she was right behind us and she’s so small and could get lost from us. We walked a lot through out this trip. We got to ride this underground train sort of (like a subway) At the airport. To get to our “concourse”. Gate 35 or something. Really confusing. A concourse is like levels at the Airport. Each level has a gate, each gate goes to a certain place. It’s also like a mall there because there are a bunch of shops and restaurants. We ate pizza. But were hurrying because we did not want to miss our flight!

We rode in the plane for 5 hours to San Francisco. It was fun. And each seat had it’s own TV. You could see this moving map of the airplane going (like a GPS). I also could watch Satellite TV. Mainly Nick. Nothing else was good. And you could listen to free music. Radio, or basically anything. Wide variety. Plus, I brought my iPod. And other things to keep me busy. And some bad news, I was looking through my videos on my iPod (I had a bunch) And I wanted to delete all of the videos of ONE day. I accidentally deleted all my videos! I CAN’T GET THEM BACK. And some were of Daddy! That means, trio, christmas, so many things I had in there are gone. One of my favorites was when I spit out a drink because it turned out to be soda and not lemonade. THAT, is gone! I get so depressed when I turn on my iPod. So back to some happiness..It was fun looking out the window. And one time we were way up high in the clouds and it felt like a roller-coaster. Sometimes, the ride was a little bumpy. Made me nauseous. When we got to San Francisco, we met with a family that we were going to be staying with. Her daughter was part of the reunion. And Jenny and her had a lot of fun. (Julienna) We picked up our bags and headed for Sacramento for 2 hours.

The next day, we went to Auburn, Sacramento. A little old town with shops. A lot of Antique Shops. We also tended to eat at a lot of Sandwich Shops throughout this vacation. Did I mention that this vacation was very HOT? Oh, and my mom, sisters, and I still had jet lag from the 3 hour change. When we got to California it was like still afternoon, when at home it would be time to go to sleep!

Thursday, we drove for 2 hours to a beach. And I forgot the name!! But we did, and it was freezing, and windy. VERY COLD. We only got to stay at the Beach for maybe 10 minutes, because it was too cold. But I officially have put my feet in the Pacific Ocean. :) Although, I froze to death, and a wave hit me, and I almost fell in the water, but luckily, got out. We had an enjoyable ride though, which made up for it. Plus, it was fun walking in the sand, with the wind blowing in your face.

Oh, and also, basically every afternoon, we went swimming. Just wanted to add that.

To Be Continued…

Staples & sooo much more!

I never knew that staples could be so great! I mean, I’ve always been the “supplies” kind of person…I don’t know why. The only real supply office place I go to, was Office Max. Staples is sooo much better. We went right when it opened. So I had the store all to myself. Entering it was like HEAVEN. (i’m a geek) Smelling all the clean supplies and seeing the wonderful waxed floor was AMAZING. I got me a french board for my newww bedroom. I also got some pens, & stationery. [stationary or stationery??] i’m cooking fried rice right now…I hope it goes well. I am ab out to go eat lunch at this Indian Place. I’ve never had Indian Food before…hmmm..the internship is going pretty well. I’m working on a Display Board today from a Power Point. I have my own desk and laptop. And you’re required to wear skirt or nice slacks. Yup..I feel like some secretary at MCG. I’m staying at this mansion for the week and it is really nice. I’ll talk more about what I do, so keep reading! After next week California here I come!!

So Far My Summer…

My summer has gone good so far…
The first week when summer was out. I did nothing. I think….except I went out one night at the Mexican restaurant with my friend Julia and some other friends. It was fun. We had a couple awkward silences, but some pretty good conversations too. :) It was sad to Julia leave. She is now officially gone and left from Lincolnton….she left the Tuesday after school ended…I think.

After that week, I had sewing camp for 4 days: I loved it sooo much! Now this wasn’t like an actual CAMP. It was a lady from her church that wanted us to come over for 4 days with her two grandchildren. Her house was HUGE. Her husband was in the army…and I think according to her granddaughter, he was a 4-star General or something like that? Mom was there and said that was big. Her granchildren that she brought were: Elliott [15 1/2 yrs old] Samantha [12 yrs old] That worked out pretty good, because their ages went along with Anna’s and mine.

Sewing Camp Week:
Tuesday
• We arrived there and learned how to make “yoyos”
Yoyo’s – are cute little buttons that are made of a circular-cut fabric and you sew it into a shape with a button in the middle…then you sew it on any clothing
Anna was the most creative with it. She had this cute pink looking flower and then put like 4 little buttons that complimented the yoyo color around it. She also put a patriotic type one on her Soffe’s!!!
This is what you could do with them:

This is what Samantha did...isn't it cute??? This is similar to what everyone did.

This is what you could have done..the flowers is what everyone did to start with

• Afterwards, we rode to Greenwood and went to Hancock, to choose our own fabric for the projects!!! EEK! That was so much fun to me. And she was kind enough to buy it all. We bought 6 pieces of fabric each. And there was Anna, Samantha, Jenny, and me! She paid a good bit.

• Then we rode back to the house and started making our pillow cases. I can’t even believe I made the 3 projects. Like Jenny said, “I feel like we bought it, instead of made it” But if you look on the inside of my projects…the stitching from the sewing machine gets uneven…so yeah. (I’ll try to upload the pictures of each project ASAP)

• We got home around 6:00 PM…and we finished all 4 pillow cases by 7:45 PM. Oh, and for lunch we had tacos…and supper we had, chili dogs. The people are retired….and they cook EVERYTHING. They grated their own parmesan cheese for pasta the last night, and they make their own sauces and stuff…that’s pretty different compared to my family. It’s frozen food all the way for us! Like…Stouffers Lasagna.

• Then we played a game called Sequence:

This is similar to what we played....but our board was wooden

• We went to bed around 10:00 PM and actually fell asleep after 12…The room was so nice. It was a patriotic theme…and had 3 beds..two twins and a queen. Anna and Samantha slept on the queen. Me and Jenny seperate. We got dressed in Samantha’s sundresses and took a bunch of pictures. Jenny drew and all.

Wednesday
• I’m an early person and I woke up at 7:00 AM and walked to the bathroom and took a shower. It was so much fun compared to my house. Everything was upstairs and she had one of those things where you looked down from the upstairs and could see the downstairs..

• We had what we fixed for breakfast and went downstairs to make our 9-patch pillows!!

This gives you an idea of what we made...the center patch had a picture of us in it...and I had dark brown with light blue polka dots for my design

• We went to the lake after we were done with the whole group and rode the tube. Then we swam a bit in the water.

Thursday
• I woke up early AGAIN and we had pancakes for breakfast. Then we made our tote bags…which we started late…so we finished them around 6 PM. We walked to their dock and just swam there.

Ours was more narrow and we drew a design and put it near the right bottom corner..

The pink part was actually blue and brown zebra for me..and the white was dark brown. I had my name in light blue and then you saw an eighth-note at the bottom that was showed the zebra with a fringe that was brown around it.

Friday
• We just had a relax day…we learned how to knit a scarf [mine is going to be hot pink] we didn’t finish it, my ball of yarn is HUGE. We went knee boarding at the lake afterwards…and had pasta for supper.

Like I said, I hope to get the picture of the projects uploaded, and replace these pictures
